Let's Celebrate it Together: FIESTA

Fiesta is always fun and a happy moment of each Filipinos. Well, it is because fiesta is part of a Filipino Tradition. Every cities or province, they always celebrate their cities anniversary, which is called fiesta. Parades of mascots, dancing in streets and joining their games are just few of the special highlights of FIESTA. The most important is the "handaan" of each house of the town. Handaan means party. Handaan is one reason that each person can get to know each other or old friends will having the little reunion. Part of handaan is the pulutan. Pulutan is the partner in crime of BEER. Men always have to make pulutan for their own party. While they drink and talk, they can chew some foods. When I was still in Philippines, during fiesta, I am so excited to make PULUTAN with my uncles. I don't drink at all but I find pulutan so delicious. Well, there are lots of pulutan that they can make. The original and famous pulutan is SISIG. It made from pig's head. Some of the people especially the tourist find it gross. If some men, don't have money to buy some pig's head or some agreeing food, they can always have dogs. Gross right? Well, they are Filipinos. They eat everything. :D

Friendster is a Community

Friendster is a Community. Friendster is one of the social-networking community website to help people interact with each other. It may not be famous like twitter, facebook or myspace but it is definitely famous in Asia. As a Filipino, I think should have an account so I could connect to my long lost friens that left five years ago in Philippines. Just like any onter social networking websites, Friendster also gives me updates from my friends through bulletins or they can leave me a message or comments/testimonials.


The disadvantage having an account is losing your private life (well, it is your choice). Some people can go in through your account and can lead to dangerous events like stalking and etc. As myself wants to stay connecte with my friends and still have a private life, I made sure that my account is "private" that no one will distract me. On the other hand, social networking can boost your confidence not just in world wide web but in reality, too. In studies shows that social networking or chatting online can help people that has lack of confidence. Well, that was our topic in my Psych100 class. :) Just little tidbitz.

What's in my wallet?

OOh! There it is! OH! I thought I lost you, my dear wallet. What's in my wallet? I'm opening it now...

I have my debits cards, my receipts, 20 dollar bill, and some coins. There’s nothing really fancy inside my wallet. There are no photos of my family or my close friends. JUST MONEY, that’s all.


Why I don’t keep photos in my wallet? I lost my previous wallet last year. I lost it somewhere at the bus. I called their office, and they said they didn’t found it. So my hope lost afterwards. That situation change my belief in putting photos in my wallet. When I lost my wallet that time, all I can think was the photo of my late father. It was his last photo that I’m kept. I didn’t thought about my debit cards or my I.D.s. Well, of course I did but I can change my cards right away. But photo of my father, my last remembrance of him, was very important to me and now, I can’t take it back. That is why the photos of my family especially my mom’s is in my planner/diary. For me, it is safer to put there because those things are not really important to those who will steal it.

Adding to what’s in my wallet are my BORDERS card, EVCC card, WetSeal card, Washington State ID, and a memory card. Oh-oh! My memory card?! Why is it here? Gosh, what if I lost my wallet again and they found this? I’m not saying there’s a scandal here but…PICTURES again. Pictures are our last memories to our loved ones.

If I lost my wallet and you found it, you may think that I'm simple but organized person. The receipts that I kept is always folded neatly. And even my money, it should be folded neatly so it will look new when you pay something in cash. My cards are organized in color. I love red so EVCC is always the top one. Green is next then blue and so on. My coins? I don't waste my coins so much, in each penny I saved for a day, i could make more money for a year. Just kidding! I have lots of coins because I don't drive and I always take the bus.

I think that's all inside my wallet...so if you found this, just make sure to give it back to me and don't steal my money!! We are in state of crisis,right now, so just help each other,please. :D
